What will I look like when Im ChiRunning?
ChiRunners look smooth and fluid as if they are gliding along.
How long does it take to learn ChiRunning?
Everyone is different but in general, it takes a month to three months to get comfortable. But you can start incorporating ChiRunning into your runs from Day 1.
Im recovering from an injury. Can I still learn ChiRunning?
Yes, most of the Level 1 class is learning the technique with very little actual running. If you can wait until your injury has healed, that would be best. But you can certainly practice posture and other form focuses without running.
I havent run in years and am out of shape.
Should I start running before I take the class?
No, most of the four-hour class is instruction on the form focuses. Very little running is done during the workshop. But youll leave the workshop with all the information you need to begin practicing ChiRunning.
How long does it take to learn ChiWalking?
In general, it takes a couple of days to weeks to feel comfortable. As soon as the ChiWalking workshop is over, however, youll have all the information you need to start using the form focuses in your daily walks whether as part of your fitness program, walking to and from the parking lot, or walking to your desk, or around the house.
I walk with a cane. Can ChiWalking help me?
Yes. I personally know one ChiWalking instructor who taught his father to ChiWalk, and his father no longer uses a cane. ChiWalking can help to improve stability and balance, but as with any physical activity, check with your doctor before beginning ChiWalking.
